Transitions Everyday lenses are designed to be worn all day, every day – indoors and outdoors – in place of clear lenses.
They darken outdoors – adapting to light to provide more comfortable vision, while protecting eyes from UV.
Transitions® VI lenses fall under this category, and should be recommended for everyday wear. They as clear as regular, clear lenses indoors, but they darken outdoors for added comfort and convenience. They offer automatic UV and glare protection.
Like Transitions VI lenses, Transitions® XTRActive™ lenses provide outstanding visual comfort, plus the convenience of wearing the same pair of glasses both indoors and out. Unlike Transitions VI lenses, Transitions XTRActive lenses activate using both UV and visible light – offering superior darkness. They are the darkest, everyday Transitions lens available, offering moderate darkness behind the windshield of a car, and a slight tint indoors. Even though Transitions XTRActive lenses get extremely dark outdoors, they should not be positioned as a “substitute” for sun lenses, especially when the patient spends a lot of time outdoors for certain sports or activities.
Transitions Performance lenses are designed to just be worn outdoors in place of traditional sun lenses.
